The team behind GameStick hope to accelerate the race to change the face of big screen gaming with the launch of the most portable, affordable, dedicated TV gaming device on the market priced at just $79.

GameStick is a small yet powerful, dedicated games console that plugs directly into a TV's HDMI slot and comes with a fully featured Bluetooth controller - ready to go right out of the box. When on the move, the two combine into a single unit, putting big screen gaming right into the pocket. The device will be compatible with other Bluetooth controllers enabling true multi-player functionality.

"We wanted to create a games console that helped further our overriding mission to bring affordable gaming to the big screen". Says Jasper Smith, CEO PlayJam. "Not only that, we wanted to push the boundaries of what has been achieved up to now bypacking sufficient power into the most portable of devices, enabling users to carry that experience with them wherever they go."

The 30 day Kickstarter campaign launched today with the team at PlayJam looking to raise a minimum of $100,000 to help make GameStick a reality. Supporters of the project can get involved by pledging as little as $10.

"We are currently in a closed Beta phase of development with a working prototype that our guys are using to test some great games. Next comes the final design stage and live testing of both the controller and the games," continues Smith. "We are fortunate to have been able to utilize our existing technology to get us to this point and have preferred manufacturers in place and an existing developer network ready to go. However, to get this project over the line and into full production, we need the support of the backers on Kickstarter."

GameStick will feature a purpose-built game store through which users will be able to browse and download content. The proposition will be powered by PlayJam's existing Games Network for Smart TV which currently supports developers such as Relentless Software, First Star Software, and Disney.

To date, the team has been focused on bringing GameStick to its pre-production phase by finalising hardware design and integrating the back end technology to power the service. They have worked with a small beta group of developers to announce the following initial line-up.

Background:Gynecological cancer has become a serious threat to women?s healthdiseases which including cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, ovarian cancer,choriocarcinoma, etc. At present, the main treatment is combination of surgeryand chemotherapy, the side effects of chemotherapy drugs may give the patientthe appearance of changes, and surgery will need some or total removal ofreproductive organs of patients. This treatment is direct impact on women?sphysical and mental health, life quality and of female sexuality.?Tell or not tellthe true condition? and ?how to tell the true condition? is also beencontroversial in clinical work. Affected by China?s traditional culture, medicalstaffs are generally given the decision-making power to the patient?s family. Butfamily members mostly to conceal the true condition because of they want toprotect the patient?s psychological. IE flaw may allow Windows PCs to be hijacked, Microsoft warns

Microsoft has confirmed that a zero-day vulnerability affecting older versions of Internet Explorer could allow attackers to gain control of Windows-based computers to host malicious Web sites.

Microsoft acknowledged the issue in a security advisory yesterday that included advice on how users can mitigate the threat posed by the flaw.

"Microsoft is aware of targeted attacks that attempt to exploit this vulnerability through Internet Explorer 8," Microsoft said, noting that more recent versions of the Web browser, including IE 9 and IE 10, were unaffected.

The remote code execution vulnerability affects the way the browser accesses memory, allowing an attacker to use the corrupted PC to host a Web site designed to exploit the vulnerability with other users.

In a web-based attack scenario, an attacker could host a website that contains a webpage that is used to exploit this vulnerability. In addition, compromised websites and websites that accept or host user-provided content or advertisements could contain specially crafted content that could exploit this vulnerability. In all cases, however, an attacker would have no way to force users to visit these websites. Instead, an attacker would have to convince users to visit the website, typically by getting them to click a link in an email message or Instant Messenger message that takes users to the attacker's website.

The flaw has reportedly been used to exploit Windows PC users who visited the Web site for the Council on Foreign Relations, a nonpartisan think tank specializing in U.S. foreign policy and international affairs. The site has been hosting the malicious code since at least December 21, Darien Kindlund, senior staff scientist at security advisor FireEye, wrote in a blog Friday.

"We can also confirm that the malicious content hosted on the website does appear to use Adobe Flash to generate a heap spray attack against Internet Explorer version 8.0 (fully patched), which was the source of the zero-day vulnerability," Kindlund wrote.

CNET has contacted Microsoft for more information and will update this report when we learn more.
