A few months ago we saw that Deadwood and Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant had very quickly unloaded her little 1920s compound in Silver Lake for $775,000; now the ever-informative Real Estalker reveals that the buyer is artist, curator, grad student, actor, and soap star James Franco. According to rumor, early filmmaker DW Griffith built the property, which now has a two-bedroom main house and a one-bedroom guesthouse, as a vacation home; it's since been owned by Princess Tatiana von Furstenberg (daughter of Diane). According to RE, Franco "has plans to fix up the quirky but kinda dumpy two-unit mini-compound where he's currently shacked up with his long-time b.f.f and producing partner Vince Jolivette." He last owned a house in Los Angeles in 2009.
